Besides dogs, cows are also seen around town. I saw this one on my way to class this morning. It's strange to see a cow just relaxing in the street of such a big city. People who can't afford to feed their cows allow them walk freely through the city during the day so the cows can find their own food. There's no fear of anything happening to them because cows are considered sacred. So if your cab driver slows down all of a sudden, it could because of a random cow crossing.Thursday, August 9, 2007

I want a pet cow!! I wish cows were sacred here. Actually, my Congresswoman was on the radio this morning taking calls, and one was from an Orthodox Hindu who served in the navy. He said the navy did not accomodate his vegetarian diet at all while he was deployed, and he had to eat peanut butter sandwiches for three years. And no one above him would help. How fucked up is that!?!?! My point is that the Indians have it right.
I consider the pig sacred.
